What sort of wines taste similar to sauvignon blanc?

Question: What sort of wines taste similar to sauvignon blanc?

I really like sauv blanc, semillon, those sorts of lighter wines and am wondering what else I can try. I'm in Australia so wouldn't mind trying other grape varieties from different countries.

I must be new at this, but I have never heard of “French Cabernet Sauternes.” I’ve had Sauternes - intoxicating sweet dessert wines made from Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. I know about Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc but that’s about it. As for my 2 cents, I think one of great things about wines is appreciating how and what others do with the same grapes. Certainly, there are whites out there that can be light and crisp. But you may be better served trying how other parts of the world treat Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon grapes. Try Pouilly Fume or Sancerre. Those typically are 100% Sauvignon Blanc. Pascal Jolivet make some very nice Loire wines. Or as someone else suggested, a White Bordeaux. White Bordeaux is made from Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon with a touch of a few others. Look for Chateau Ducla. Have Fun

Try a French Cabernet Sauternes; it's made with the same grape but they do amazing things with it.

Sancere and White Bordeaux are similar to Sauv Blanc as they use the same types of grapes. .
