Have had the bottle in the family and was curious if it was worth anything. Thinking about putting it up for charity auction. Thanks wine drinkers and experts.

Its a $10-15 bottle of wine new likely a wine from 1988 will have gone bad or corked by now, and its worth nothing the majoirty of wines don't age well unless you spend big $$$, and looks like the aging potential of cabernet sauvignon is 5-10 years, after that it likely would go downhill

Very few wines can last more than 20 years, including this one, but you are welcome to donate it to auction and claim a $100 donation on your taxes.

It could actually be off if it has not been laid down properly. Not all wine keeps and if it is meant to be kept it will have a very long cork. If, for any reason the bottle, that old, instead of being kept laid on it's side, in a cellar to maintain the correct temperature. it has been kept stood upright on a sunny window sill or in a drinks cabinet in a centrally heated room the cork will have become dry and bacteria may have got into the wine causing it to be undrinkable. I would never consider buying a bottle that old unless I knew how it had been kept. 1988 was a good year especially in Italy and wines that age are retailing between £20 and £60 a bottle but none are the variety you have. That could mean that it is priceless or worthless. At an Auction these things do find their own value Try this site to broaden your knowledge amd hopes mon ami 00 christies.com/ LotFinder/ lot_details.aspx?intObjectID= 5200103

Http:/ / cousinomacul.cl/ home.html. Can't get better than asking the people themselves. they may be interested in buying it themselves as well because if it is a commodity wine they will want to see how it's faired since they made it. Winemakers are always interested in their own vino and this will probably be quite a rare thing for them. Go on, send them an email, I promise you will get a reply from them.

No more than twenty bucks. Could still be good, if it was cellared right. Put it up for auction and see what you get, you may be surprised. Good luck!
