Question: Which type of wine is better, cabernet savignon or chardonnay?

Even though I think I majorly misspelled the Cabernet's name, I want to know which one is better since I am more of a beer person and I'm trying to open my palate to new things. So, help? |

Neither one is better. They are completely different wines. For starters, Cabernet Sauvignon is red and Chardonnay is white. I always tell first time wine drinkers to STAY AWAY from Cab Sauv and Chard. I do not think of them as easy wines to drink. Try a Zinfandel (and not a faux-wine "white zinfandel, " an actual red Zinfandel). |

You did not misspell CABERNET you spelled it correctly. Anyway, if you are a beer drinker i would start with a white(Chardonnay) because it's lighter in taste, unless you are used to drinking heavier beer (i.e) Guiness,Samuel Adams etc...then i would start with a red(Cabernet) because it is heavier. However, you really won't know which is better(for you) until you simply try each one for yourself, then base your decision on that. We cannot truly answer that question for you as different people have different taste. Some wine drinkers are VERY picky (i.e) "Wine Snobs " & will steer you in their preference of choice...you must judge for yourself. * Also there are many other types of reds & whites you can choose from...you might not like Cabernet or Chardonnay. There are sweet vs. dry - fruity flavors etc... REDS: Shiraz, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Sangiovese WHITES: Sauvignon Blanc, White Zinfandel, Riesling, Chablis So again it's up to you :-) Have a good one! |
