There is a product called a cork puller, same basic design but instead of cork screw it has 2 slender pieces of aluminum that go down the outside of the cork and apply pressure to allow you to pull the cork up without putting holes in it, tough to use but kinda fun tool |

Grab that cork with your teeth and yank! |

NO! Buy a cork screw. There is no safe way to open a bottle of wine (unless its a screw cap) unless you have a cork screw. You can buy them anywhere they sell wine. |

O.K. seriously- I have done this many times when stuck without a corkscrew. Take a fork or spoon, hold the bottle firmly upright, put the handle end of your utensil against and push it straight in . Yes, it'll smoosh down, and probably stay in one piece. Don't push too hard, or a bit might splash out. When you pour it, the cork floats out of the way. |

I don't drink wine, however whenever I have people over for dinner they always bring some. I've done this on several occasions & it's always worked for me: screw a screw about 1/ 2 way into the cork, take a pliers & pull on the screw. |
