Question: How can you tell when the wine is corked?

If there is a vintage on the wine you can tell which year it was corked. Too, you can visit the vintner's website or the winery itself if you're near and learn more about the cycles and which grapes are crushed and barreled when

"Corked " meaning a "Bad Cork ". You can tell from a "Off Smell ", something like dirty socks.

The bottom of the cork will look a bit molded.

Uh, wino here!! You can tell it's corked if it smells musty and tastes sour.... Corked is different then cooked. Cooked wines are more common today because of how the wines are shipped where the temps go up and down which is EVIL for wine... light, and temperature are wines worst enemies. If a wine is corked, it means it's beyond the time that it was good, say for example you had a 1969 bottle of wine that was good for 45 years. If it wasn't stored properly, then it would end up being corked. Cooked wine is basically when the temperature from traveling or storing quickly "cooks " the wine souring it. Ah, such a shame when that happens!! = )
