Question: What is the shelf life on a corked bottle of merlot?

Once a red wine is corked, it begins to oxidize, or breathe, in vintners terms. It will continue to oxidize even if re corked. It is best to drink within 3 to 4 days. After that, it will slowly turn to something you wouldn't want to drink.
