Reliable merlot information
What is a good merlot? ?
I want to buy a bottle for my grandad for Xmas, but only want to spend about 10 or so, so it really needs to be something I can find in tesco, Asda or morrisons lol. I usually go for something based on price but I have no idea about the taste. Asda sometimes have offers on wine something like 2 for 8 pound, where the bottle on its own was previously 8 pound, so its all confusing to me. Can anyone advise me of a nice brand but not too expensive?

Will one bottle of merlot wine get me drunk?
It's about 26 fl ounces, and 750 ml. It's about 12 % alcohol. The thing is I usual actual always drink liquor when I drink mainly jack Daniels whiskey so when I do drink wine I'm usually already drunk... But one time I was pretty drunk and I finished a bottle of wine in 2 chugs in about 10 minutes it was nasty wine but really put me border line shot faced passed out and all so will one bottle of this merlot wine do good work, I'm about 6'2 175 pounds

Is Sutter Home White Merlot sweet?
I can't stand dry wines. I usually drink sweet red wines, but I saw this white merlot and it sounds like it would be good. I have had a red merlot and did not like it. I used to like white zinfandel but I got tired of it. Just need to know if this wine is sweet and maybe rated on a sweetness scale.
Red Wines - what's the difference between a Merlot and a Shiraz?
I know zilch about wines and have yet to see Sideways, haha. But I like Shiraz and recently started drinking Merlot and am curious, can someone tell me what the difference is? How about this curious bottle of " Shiraz Cabernet" I've been drinking? The more better info, the better 10 points. Thanks so much I really don't know about the difference between the two wines. The Merlot seems milder, but that could just be the particular bottle of Merlot I've got, no?Was hoping for some education.
Is it normal for a Merlot to taster very Bitter and Dry ?
I had my first alcoholic drink yesterday, i bought a 500ml Vendange red wine merlot, i was expecting it to taste like grape juice, but instead It was unbearably bitter, and I had to dilute it with cranberry juice. was something wrong with it or was that normal ?and did I ruin it becuase I refridgerated it ?
What's a good Merlot?
I'm trying to get into wine since I love it but still getting used to dry red wines. I bought a yellowtail merlot but it's very strong & not sure I like the aftertaste. Is that bc it's a bad brand or I'm not used to it?I put it in the fridge for a few minutes, much better
