Question: What does white merlot taste like,is it sweet?

Merlot is a red grape, so there is no white type of merlot wine.

Merlots do tend to be on the 'dry' side, and have a bite to them... depending upon the winery maker. The one merlot that I do like is Rodney Strong ( I can't remember the year, though.) It was actually really good!... I was surprised. .... not as dry, suttle sweetness, and had a nice oak/ woodsy finish to it.

The dryness or sweetness of any non distilled alcohol is dependent upon the yeast they use.
