What were the best wines in top chef season 6 episode 8 "pigs and pinot"?

Question: What were the best wines in top chef season 6 episode 8 "pigs and pinot"?

Eli from top chef said that he could tell that some chefs did not have good taste in wine from their selections when they chose wine to pair with their dishes. What were the wines and which were the "real dogs in the fight " that Eli was referring to?

I don't know - I felt that they didn't explain this very well on the episode... I'm a beer guy, not a wine guy, and I wanted a little more explanation about how they picked the wines, and which were the best choices and pairings that were made... I found a list of the wines on "Television Without Pity ", maybe you can research each one based on this info? Michael V.: 2006 Cuvaison pinot noir (paired with root beer-braised pork cheek with a truffle bun and vanilla/ cherry sauce) Ash: 2007 Sanford pinot noir (chilled pork tenderloin with cherry and corn salad) Eli: 2007 Terlato family pinot noir. (braised pork belly with carrot puree and raw celery and fennel) Kevin: 2006 Sokol Blosser Dundee Hills pinot noir. (pork leg pate with mushroom salad and pickled cherries) Mike I: 2005 Wairau River pinot noir. (pork shoulder stuffed with prosciutto, dates, and pine nuts and served over orange blossom yogurt) Bryan: Rochioli pinot noir. (braised pork spare rib served over parsnip puree with mostarda) Jen: 2005 Chanson Clos de Beze pinot noir. (pork belly braised in soy sauce with a salad made of tomatoes, black olives, apples, celery, and truffles) Laurine: 2005 Chanson Clos de Feves pinot noir. (pork butt rillettes on an arugula salad with a golden raisin and pearl onion chutney) Robin: Mischief and Mayhem pinot noir. (brined center cut pork chop stuffed with sweet potato-apple roulade and a sour cherry-coffee demiglace) As I said, I don't know which of these wines would be considered good choices and which ones not so good, but I think a big part of it would be how well they paired with each person's food (and of course how well they prepared it) - and I think from the episode it was (mostly) clear what the judges' opinions on that were.
