Question: What is the best wine you ever made, and what made it so good?

We have made a nice cab and a Zin that are happily, good enough to drink. Most the the berries were from local vineyards that sell the unpicked fruit. But we also got some Napa juice through a friend. The cab was about a 85/ 15 blend of the two. We just had a bottle of Caymus Vineyards 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon. It was a wonderful wine and a wonderful experience. we have had many good wines but this is the most recent.

Cherry wine, from the tree in my front yard, one year when it produced one heck of a lot of cherries. I don't even know what kind of cherry but it was a sweet cherry, almost black, probably Bing or Montmorency. It came out as a good full bodied red wine, with an aftertaste of dry cherry. Damn, that was good stuff. Drank the last bottle five years after making it and it was still good.

The best was an elderberry wine. What made it so good was just dumb luck.
