Question: Where to purchase a 1989 bottle of wine in southern california?
(Posted by: core2bbq on 2010-03-07 23:19:35)
My 21st birthday is coming up later this month and I thought it would be cool to get a bottle of wine from 1989. Does anyone know where to get one? |

Well if someone is holding on to a 1989 bottle of wine it will be a good one and will cost a good penny. You can try local wine shops, I know there are plenty in so cal but I have never seen any 1989 bottles. Go online and make a custom wine label with a wine you have already tried and like. |

How about a specialist wine merchant, or a wine auction. Heres one I found using Google - klwines.com/ content.asp?Nty= 1 &Ntt= 1989 &N= 4294967259 &Ne= 7 &Nr= OR(OutofStock:N,Inventory+ Location:Special+ Order) &Ntx= mode+ matchallpartial &Ns= QtySoldLast30|1 &Ntk= search_all They are in Hollywod EDIT: The suggestion to simply make a new wine label for something you like is ILLEGAL as you would be passing it off as something it wasn't |

Find a wine shop in your area and ask them if they've got something food and affordable from that year. |

Finding a good aged wine is going to be difficult. I'd ask your local wine store if they have a library collection, or work with anyone who does. Most retailers and/ or wine (yes like my own) won't have anything publicly for sale of that age. That being said both my business partner and I have personal cellars which would be a better bet for you. Lastly you can contact wineries directly and let them know what you're looking for. They almost always have aged wines on the property. |
