How long will wine keep in the fridge before it kills me?

Question: How long will wine keep in the fridge before it kills me?

(Posted by: knock knock on 2010-03-10 00:40:19)

Its a bottle of white (yellow tale pinot grigio if it matters), and has a metal skrew top not a cork (so little exposure to air, etc). I don't actually want to drink it, just cook with it, so my only concern is that it might cause me to become sick and/ or dead. Its been there for about 2 months, can I keep it 'indefinitely'? Thanks

Yes. I usually take over a year to get through a bottle of white wine I keep in the fridge for cooking. You will live. Hint: fermented foods last a lot longer than fresh foods. It's how our ancestors preserved their food and survived without refrigeration for millennia.

Once drank a two month old bottle of wine and a pack of birth control pills, for an hour I thought I was Patrick Swayze. Serioulsy though you'll be fine. It might affect the taste after a while, but should be harmless

It'll keep like that for quite a long time. A few quick ways to tell if it's bad are if it smells or tastes sour, looks murky or is any color other than the one it was when you bought it. That said, the first one isn't necessarily a sign that it's gone bad, as it might have turned to vinegar.

Oh come on. You are a kid and you have wine in your fridge that you want to drink. Anyone who would ask this question cannot be of legal age to drink. Before it kills you? Hahaha..
