There is no right answer to this question. The 10 most expensive wines are priced moreso because of their rarity than their quality. This difference becomes apparent when comparing a "very good " wine with a "great " wine. You pay $400 for a great wine and $40 for a very good wine. Both wines are rated in the high 90's by wine rating journals. But, the very good wine has 100,000 cases sold whereas the great wine has 1000 cases available. The availability is largely responsible for the huge cost difference. To me, the best 10 red wines would be: 1) Easily found in most liquor stores 2) Great taste (probably rated in the low 90's) 3) Under $20 If my income was twice as high as it is now, my list would be 1) Easily found in most liquor stores 2) Great taste (probably rated in the high 90's) 3) Under $50 |
